Board of Trustees

Boards of Trustees are the highest authority and decision making body of universities and plays the role of legislator as in other state agencies of the country. The sole decision makers and monitors of university are Board of Trustees. The reason to this matter is the presupposition that academic staffs of university are expert and intellectual members who can decide without the interference of other state agencies to the good of the university. Members of Board of Trustees, based on the autonomy of universities and the law for the formation of Board of Trustees and higher education and research institutions, include: Minister of Science, Research and Technology, University Chancellor, 4 to 6 scientific, cultural, or social personalities who have an effective role in the development and expansion of university, and head or representative of Management and Planning Organization.
