2nd International Workshop on Renewable Energy Solutions Held in Mashhad
International Workshop on Renewable Energy Solutions held in Pardisan Hotel, Mashhad last week. Participants of this workshop were faculty members, researchers, and professors of Iraqi universities. This was the second workshop held under the authority of University of Kashan on renewable energies.
Dr. Mohammad Nazififard, presenter of the workshop and faculty member of Energy Research Institute, elaborated on the importance of this workshop: following the environmental consequences of excessive consumption of fossil fuels and increasing demand of energy carriers, the use of renewable energy solutions such as wind power, solar, geothermal, and biomass energies has become a necessity more than ever.
He added that the policy of the developed and developing countries in energy production is focused on renewable energies. Therefore, development of renewable energies can lead to the economic, social, and environmental development of countries which is among the fundamental factors in achieving sustainable development for any nation.
With the interests shown by the faculty members and researchers of Iraqi universities and institutes following the first workshop held last January (on photovoltaic solar energy power plants) in University of Kashan, this workshop was focused on practical solutions and technology utilizations for clean energies with an analysis of obstacles and solutions in creating and utilizing renewable energy technologies. The participants received a Certificate of Attendance at the end of the workshop.
Negotiations on expanding cooperation and professor exchange programs between Iraqi institutes and universities with University of Kashan were held on the sidelines of this international workshops. Dr. Mahdi Dashtbozorgi, head of International Scientific Cooperation Office of University of Kashan met and discussed the possibilities of further collaborations with Eng. Ali Jaaber, senior advisor on higher educations to Najaf municipality, and Kareem Hassan Bardan, head of faculty of sciences of University of Sumer. In this meeting, the need for holding similar scientific meetings was emphasized by the parties.
