University of Kashan Iran’s 2nd University –UI GreenMetric

University of Kashan managed to achieve the 2^nd highest rank in GreenMetric World University Ranking for the second consecutive year in Iran.

Professor Abbas Zeraat, Chancellor of University of Kashan, informed that the insitute was placed 107^th worldwide and 2^nd nationally in GreenMetric 2018 ranking.

The UI GreenMetric World University Ranking is an initiative of Universitas Indonesia launched in 2010. The aim of this ranking is to provide the result of online survey regarding the current condition and policies related to Green Campus and Sustainability in the Universities all over the world. It is expected that by drawing the attention of university leaders and stake holders, more attention will be given to combating global climate change, energy and water conservation, waste recycling, and green transportation.

The criteria for the ramking include such baseline information as the size of the university, both spatially and in terms of population, the campus location and the amount of green space; and also information on energy use, transport, water use and recycling and waste treatment. In addition, it will evaluate efforts being made by the institution towards establishing green policies and management.
