A Delegation from University of Kashan Visits University of Delhi
On August 29, A delegation from University of Kashan visited University of Delhi in India and met and discussed various cooperation possibilities with Professor Aleem Ashraf Khan, head of Persian Department of University of Delhi.
This delegation was comprised of Dr. Mahdi Dasht Bozorgi, head of International Scientific Cooperation Office, Dr. Reza Shajari, head of Persian Department, Dr. Mohammad Mashhadi, head of Center for Kashan Studies, Dr. Hossein Ghorbanpour, faculty member of Persian Department, Dr. Abbas Zare-ee, faculty member of English Department, Dr. Javad Divandari, deputy of Faculty of Architecture and Art, and Dr. Ahmad DanaeiNia, head of Center for Architecture and Urbanism.
In this meeting, Dr. Aleem Ashraf Khan complained about the lack of support from Persian Departments and stated that: “we expect more from Iranian Universities and Academic Centers.” He added that the introduction and correction of thousands of Persian manuscripts and also the introduction of Kashan’s poets in India would require more cooperation between the two parties. The interaction in Architecture and Art courses were put under emphasis also in this meeting.
The major talks in this meeting were about programs regarding student exchanges, holding Persian courses for Indian students majored in Persian in Kashan or Delhi, joint supervisor selection in Religion and Persian Language departments, holding joint seminars in Kashan and Delhi, and joint publication of papers and books.
Soon a delegation from University of Delhi will travel to University of Kashan to negotiate further upon the above-mentioned subjects which will most likely lead to signing a MoU between the two institutes.
