Science Minster Called for Universities to Be Task Oriented and Entrepreneurial

 In a meeting with the presence of the University council, donors and contributors, Dr. Farhadi, the Iranian Minister of Science, Research and Technology said the universities should be task oriented, entrepreneurial and productive.

He renounced the mission of the universities as merely teaching advanced sciences aimed at reaching the summits of knowledge, but rather "to convert knowledge into wealth and productivity."

Acknowledging the excellence of education at the University of Kashan, Farhadi said University of Kashan has the required infrastructures to be task-oriented and entrepreneurial and expressed his desire to see University of Kashan a leading university in this area.

Referring to the knowledge-based companies as the main cogs of a sustainable economy, he announced “the development of knowledge-based companies and entrepreneurial and technological offices is a key strategy of the science ministry” and asked for universities to enhance close connections and relationships with the public, community and industry.
