Higher Education Minister: Science and Technology Park to be established at the University of Kashan

Dr. Mohammad Farhadi, the Iranian minister for Science, Research, and Technology announced the news on his press conference while visiting the University of Kashan on 16^th June, 2016.

Referring to Kashan’s economic potentials, namely, industries associated with the essential oils, rosewater, carpet, automobiles and other manufacturing industries, Farhadi underscored the development of knowledge-based companies, and scientific and technological parks. “So far, over 4000 companies have applied for knowledge-based status; 2200 have acquired, majority of which operate inside Scitech parks”, he added in justification of establishing such a park at the main campus of the University.

“Total funding allocated to the research and technology in this year, amounts to 1.1 percent of GDP, reflecting one hundred percent increase compared to the last year”, he stated.
