International workshop on “New Technologies and Survey of Troglodytic Architecture”

For the first time an international workshop on “New Technologies and Survey of Troglodytic Architecture” was held on the 5^th and 6^th of October in Kashan, by Professor Pietro Grimaldi of the Italian Bari University. The workshop was organized with direct cooperation of the Iranian cultural heritage research center, Bari University and University of Kashan, aimed at initiating new scientific research on the underground city of Nooshabad. In the closing session, Dr. Mozdianfard head of international scientific cooperation office of the University of Kashan expressed hope that small steps like these would assist in UNESCO registration of the underground city of Nooshabad in Kashan, as well as providing proper scientific foundation for improved national and international researches involving various departments of University of Kashan including Arts and Humanity, Architecture, archeology and anthropological studies at the School of Life and Earth Sciences, in the Kashan Institute for Advanced Studies.
