"It is expected that Kashan International Observatory will be completed in the next four years," said Managing Director of Iranian National Observatory Plan Reza Mansouri.

According to ISNA, Mansouri added that international observatories are being built in eight countries, including Iran's Kashan.

Mansouri noted that work on the observatory started in 2003, which is unique in the Middle East.

"It will be a bridge linking Iran to Canary islands, China and India," he said.

Mansouri also said the observatory is being built in Kashan's Kamo City, one of the world's best astronomical peaks.

"The location will turn the observatory into one of the most complicated and largest astronomical locations with high observation capacities," he said.
