Review of Joint Collaborations between Iran University of Art and Kashan University

On Wednesday, June 17, 2026, the president and deputies of Iran University of Art visited Kashan University to review joint collaborations. They held a meeting with the president and deputies of Kashan University.

The president of Kashan University stated in the meeting that communication and interaction with universities are an important step towards the scientific development of the university. He added that Kashan is a religious city with a brilliant culture, history, art, and architecture, and it is significant if the university can have an impact in such a city.

Dr. Behzad Soltani pointed out that universities should act as intellectual authorities, blending historical and modern resources, and integrating architecture-art with philosophy, sociology, and other fields. This integration would enable them to convey messages about the past and future to the people.

He added, "We expect to be able to present students and society with a vision of the future rooted in local culture, so they can better understand Iranian culture and art."

The president of Kashan University, stating that young people should feel that the city of Kashan is a different space, emphasized that the Faculty of Architecture and Art should utilize artistic and architectural works and draw from cultural and intellectual roots to preserve the Iranian and traditional authenticity in their creations.

Dr. Soltani mentioned that Kashan University has played a key role in transforming the city into an "architectural creative city" from UNESCO's perspective. He added that the intention is to establish this connection with the city and create a space for cultural-academic movement.

Dr. Manoochehr Moazzami, the acting president of Iran University of Art, stated that the purpose of this trip was to exchange experiences with the professors and researchers of the Faculty of Architecture and Art at Kashan University. He added that, considering Kashan's notable architecture, culture, and art, efforts are being made to have students from Iran University of Art visit the city to benefit more from it.

He noted that for this purpose, a small building (approximately 300 square meters) has been purchased in Kashan to be used as a base for the university's activities. It will serve as an incubator and a hub for the university to connect with the arts, facilitating diverse activities.

Dr. Moazzami stated that students' minds should not be limited to their own city, emphasizing the significant role of educational trips. He added that trips to philosophical, sociological, religious destinations, and to visit Iranian luminaries can change one's perspective on the world and the land.

He further explained that there is a plan for educational trips in the fields of architecture and urban planning, so these trips can play an educational role in addition to their cultural aspect. One of the objectives is to increase the sense of belonging to Iran among the future generation, and these trips are considered an integral part of the educational program.
