The President of the University of Kashan has stated that philanthropists serve as the fundamental drivers for the growth, excellence, and development of society.

Speaking at an event organized by the esteemed philanthropist, Mr. Haj Ali Azad Armaki, Dr. Behzad Soltani identified knowledge as the cornerstone of societal progress. He remarked, "Every individual who embarks on the path of science and knowledge is performing an act of charity that paves the way for the advancement and excellence of the community."

Dr. Soltani emphasized the importance of "knowledge governance," noting that providing scientific and strategic solutions to policymakers and administrators enhances the efficiency of administrative and social systems. He further added that science possesses intrinsic value as the highest form of achievement. He noted that beyond their academic needs, students also have psychological and emotional requirements; any charitable act aimed at their scientific progress provides them with immense morale and satisfaction.

Highlighting the impact of philanthropic support, such as the furnishing of student dormitories, Dr. Soltani remarked that these benevolent acts foster a sense of well-being and comfort within the campus environment. He expressed gratitude for the support provided by donors in developing the university's educational, research, and welfare facilities, adding, "We must cultivate an environment that enables us to graduate highly sophisticated individuals for society." Furthermore, he called for philanthropic support in realizing the "entrepreneurial university" model, noting that establishing entrepreneurship hubs is essential for securing students' future employment.

In his address, Dr. Taghi Azad Armaki identified societal stagnation as a major challenge. He argued that a society incapable of production cannot resolve its own problems, a vacuum that often leads to the emergence of "rent-seeking philanthropists." The sociologist noted that throughout modern history, there have been numerous instances where philanthropists have guided the direction of governments and catalyzed significant societal transformations.

Dr. Armaki further distinguished between "genuine philanthropists" and "rent-seeking philanthropists," emphasizing that collective social values are key to long-term stability. Concluding his speech, he described Kashan as a cultural and civilizational phenomenon, asserting that the University of Kashan must instill a sense of this cultural-civilizational identity in its students, rather than promoting a traditional, conservative, or ideological mindset, thereby turning this identity into an intrinsic part of their character.
