Signing of a Scientific and Research Cooperation Agreement between the University of Kashan and Al-Ain Nasiriyah University, Iraq

In line with the expansion of international scientific collaborations and aiming to enhance the reputation of the University of Kashan at the transnational level, the President of the University of Kashan, Dr. Behzad Soltani, met on Monday (November 24, 2025) with Dr. Haider Abdulamir Marhoon, President of Al-Ain Nasiriyah University, Iraq, and signed a scientific and research cooperation agreement.

During the meeting, Dr. Soltani provided a historical overview of the University of Kashan’s activities and expressed the university’s interest in expanding international cooperation in various areas, including faculty and student exchange, joint research publications, conducting educational and research programs, establishing joint knowledge-based companies, and promoting entrepreneurship in both countries.

Dr. Haider Abdulamir Marhoon welcomed the proposals presented by the University of Kashan and expressed Al-Ain University’s willingness to engage in any scientific and entrepreneurial collaboration with the University of Kashan, emphasizing the importance of expanding scientific and research cooperation in the near future.

Dr. Naseer Ali Hussein, Vice President for Scientific Affairs at Al-Ain University, highlighted the university’s vision for the future and emphasized the president’s commitment to contributing to societal problem-solving. He introduced the active research centers at Al-Ain University aimed at serving Iraqi society and expressed interest in utilizing the expertise of faculty members from the University of Kashan in fields such as artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, chemical engineering, and computer engineering.

Dr. Khoshnevisan, Vice President for Education and Graduate Studies at the University of Kashan, provided a report on the university’s international rankings and introduced its research institutes, reaffirming the University of Kashan’s readiness for collaboration in research and educational activities with the Iraqi counterpart.

Dr. Mohsen Sifi, Director of International Cooperation at the University of Kashan, highlighted the role of joint memoranda of understanding in expanding international collaboration and called for increased exchange of educational and research experiences between the two universities. Subsequently, Dr. Meysam Hatem, Director of International Cooperation at Al-Ain University, expressed the university’s readiness to offer scholarships to outstanding Iranian students for participation in the “Study in Iraq” program.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties signed a joint cooperation agreement in various educational and research fields, which is expected to mark a significant milestone in the development of scientific and research collaborations between the University of Kashan and foreign universities.
