Meeting of International Student Recruitment Agencies of the Ministry of Science Held at the University of Kashan

A meeting of the Ministry of Science’s international student recruitment agencies was held at the University of Kashan.

The President of the University of Kashan highlighted the presence of international students at the university as part of its efforts toward internationalization. He emphasized that through innovation, administrative transformation, and the organization of joint training programs, the university seeks to enhance scientific and international collaboration with other countries.

Dr. Behzad Soltani identified international entrepreneurship and intellectual cultivation as core missions of the University of Kashan. He stated that the university’s potential for international entrepreneurship is at least equal to its educational capacity. The objective is to ensure that students’ (both Iranian and Iraqi) expertise leads not only to earning a degree but also to the establishment of production companies and job creation.

He also outlined the university’s incentive policies for attracting international students, noting that students who participate more actively in various activities—such as contributing to dormitory construction or establishing entrepreneurial companies—receive higher recognition.

The president emphasized that graduates play the primary role in founding and managing companies, while faculty members provide support and guidance. The university continues to engage with students post-graduation, offering necessary training and assistance in marketing and other services to ensure the stability of these companies.

Dr. Soltani further emphasized intellectual cultivation as the university’s third mission, stating that the institution must ensure that individuals entering society are more cultivated upon graduation than when they entered. Intellectual cultivation encompasses both moral and ethical development, including honesty and integrity, as well as general well-being. Basic social norms, such as refraining from theft and lying, must be upheld by all students, regardless of nationality.

He also highlighted cultural programs for Iraqi students, noting the university’s development of cultural activities such as excursions and training programs to enhance cultural skills.

Dr. Soltani stressed ideas for investment in academic, residential, and dedicated spaces for Iraqi students, asserting that the university should not be merely an educational institution but must play an active role in economic and social development through entrepreneurship.

The president concluded that the university must create an environment where students can realize their talents and ideas and transform into successful entrepreneurs.

Engineer Hamed Ahmadi Pour, Director of International Student Recruitment Affairs at the Ministry of Science’s Student Affairs Organization, noted that universities are required to cooperate only with licensed international student recruitment agencies listed on the organization’s official website. He referenced 155 licensed agencies nationwide and highlighted the University of Kashan’s success in attracting international students.

He emphasized the importance of leveraging international students for the internationalization of universities and stated that this capacity should be fully utilized to enhance global engagement.

Dr. Khoshnevisan, Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of Kashan, also noted that the university began admitting international students in 2022 (1401) and emphasized the need to improve their educational efficiency and quality. He referred to the establishment of the Azfa Center, dormitory renovations, and the creation of a consular office for international students, underscoring the importance of respecting and supporting international students.
