UoK among Top Iranian Universities – US News 2020

Latest results of the 2020 US News University Ranking which was announced earlier this week, University of Kashan was placed among the top universities of Iran.

Dr. Majid Monemzadeh, vice-chancellor for research at University of Kashan, announced on November 26 that University of Kashan with a total score of 28 was recognized the 5^th public state university of Iran. University of Tehran, University of Tabriz, Shiraz University, and Ferdowsi University of Mashhad were ranked 1^st to 4^th, making it on top of University of Kashan. University of Kashan is placed 16th among all Iranian universities and institutes in 2020 rankings.

University of Kashan was elevated in its international ranking compared to last year’s 1182^nd place, holding the 1172^nd place for 2020 among universities of the world, according to US News University Ranking.

US News University Ranking’s methodology is the product of years of research and according to their website, they continue to refine their approach based on user feedback, discussions with schools and higher education experts, literature reviews, trends in their data, availability of new data, and attending and sometimes presenting at professional conferences. 

The following are elements in the US News rankings as of the 2020 edition (criteria and weight): peer assessment (20%), retention (22%), social mobility (5%), faculty resources (20%), student excellence (10%), financial resources (10%), graduation rate performance (8%), alumni giving rate (5%).
